Pewdiepie and his wife have recently moved to Japan, saying that they wanted a new adventure and had fallen in love with the country on trips they had taken before the Pandemic. The couple purchased a home there together in 2018 and have just moved into it. In Pewdiepie’s latest videos, keen eyes may have spotted Lladró’s The Guest in the Youtube star’s new home office. The numbered edition of The Guest by renowned designer Gary Baseman can be spotted behind PewdiePie in a number of recent videos.

The Guest series is a modern interpretation of the classical self-portrait which invites collaborating artists to customise the unique character. Baseman’s work is known for blending darker, moodier motifs with symbols that invoke a sense of whimsy and innocence, for a juxtaposition that is visually surprising and thought-provoking. Clearly, Pewdiepie is a fan!
