Unseen Secrets

Think you know everything about Baccarat?

Hidden within their archives are radical experiments in light and form that defy retail convention. From the hypnotic geometry of Reflets Graphiques to the blinding brilliance of Éclats de Lumière, this series takes a sledgehammer to tradition and reimagines 260 years of heritage through a daring contemporary lens that pushes the very material of crystal to its breaking point. These exclusive collections are available by invite only to the most discerning collectors.

Baccarat’s Haute Couture Collection is the ultimate expression of the brand’s creative and technical mastery, where crystal becomes a canvas for bold innovation. These one-of-a-kind creations, handcrafted by Baccarat’s Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (MOF) artisans, are more than decorative objects; they are sculptural statements that celebrate the fusion of heritage and modernity, cementing Baccarat’s status at the forefront of luxury design.

Here are some of their prized masterpieces:

1. Coupe Reflets Graphiques

First presented at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, the Reflets Graphiques Bowl in a limited number of 25 units emerged during a time when Cubism was reshaping artistic norms. Designed by Georges Chevalier, Baccarat’s then-artistic director, the bowl reflects the spirit of modernity through its sculptural form, angular grooves, and elevated base. Its vivid pink hue is created through a process unique to Baccarat, where molten crystal is infused with 24-karat gold powder - a delicate operation that demands exceptional precision in the kiln. Realised through the collaboration of 14 artisans, the piece continues Baccarat’s tradition of blending historical technique with modern artistic influence.

2. Vase Reflets Graphiques

The Reflets Graphiques Vase draws from a long lineage of craftsmanship, beginning with early sketches and watercolours and culminating in meticulous work at the diamond mill. Its form, clear crystal overlaid with black, requires mastery at every stage, from the finely calibrated mold to the precision of its final cuts. Horizontal and vertical fluting, shaped over hours of concentrated carving, reveals a play of symmetry and mirrored surfaces. Conceived as a modern echo of a 1930 design, the limited edition piece of 25 globally links past and present, carrying forward Baccarat’s tradition through the hands of its master artisans. Its bold geometry and deep contrasts are not only visual but historical, marking the continuity of vision across generations.

3. Vase Éclats de Lumière

Created as a dialogue between light and shadow, the Éclats de Lumière Vase draws on Baccarat’s long tradition of ornamental cutting, reinterpreted here with striking duality. The clear and black double-cased crystal, a first in Baccarat’s history, reveals a rich surface of bevels, pontilles, olives, and stones, each cut guided by precision and touch. Originating in 1909 and first exhibited in Nancy, the design has been reimagined with technical refinements that demand near-surgical accuracy. Ten artisans work in concert to bring out the vase’s sculptural depth, carving delicate patterns without a single deviation. The result is a limited-edition piece of 25 units that captures both complexity and clarity, echoing the rhythm of light as it moves across form.

4. Coupe Éclats de Lumière

With its intricate symmetry and radiating design, the Éclats de Lumière Flat Bowl echoes the rose windows of Gothic cathedrals structures where beauty is built on precision. Cut from clear crystal lined with pink crystal, the bowl’s surface becomes a canvas for complex motifs: curved bevels, diamond cuts, and pierrerie patterns, each executed with extraordinary finesse. Its colouration is achieved by layering molten crystal with 24-karat gold powder, a process requiring exact timing and deep expertise. Originally introduced at the 1909 International Exhibition of Eastern France in Nancy, the design stands as a tribute to Baccarat’s enduring technical legacy and the creative vision that shaped early 20th-century decorative arts.

5. Coupe Flammes Midnight

A brilliant testament to Baccarat's know-how, the Flammes bowl created in 1902 dazzles with the complexity of its decoration, revealing patterns of flames and star diamonds.  Cut deep into the thickness of the crystal, the decoration of the Flamme bowl takes shape to reveal the intensity of the Midnight Blue crystal and evoke the magic of infinite light. Limited to 25 pieces,

6.  Vase Les Oies Célestes (1878)

Originally created for the 1878 Universal Exhibition in Paris, Les Oies Célestes is a revival of Baccarat’s historic fascination with Eastern aesthetics, particularly the ornamental ceramics of Iznik. The vase’s slender oval form is adorned with a hand-painted enamel trim in rich polychrome and gold, a meticulous process requiring exceptional precision from Baccarat’s gilders. The central motif features celestial geese - messengers between earth and sky - arriving in a symbolic Garden of Eden that blossoms upon their landing. Reimagined today in a limited edition of 12, this piece represents both a technical achievement in decorative artistry and a poetic vision rooted in Baccarat’s 19th-century heritage.

7. L’Agrion Joli

Created in 1904, L’Agrion Joli reflects Baccarat’s Art Nouveau era, when nature’s forms inspired fluid, organic creations. Shaped as a dragonfly with wings poised in motion, the piece embodies lightness and radiance. Its cobalt blue crystal lining captures shifting tones of sky and water, echoing the shimmer of a dragonfly gliding above a summer stream. Limited to just 50 pieces, it celebrates the fleeting beauty of nature and Baccarat’s mastery of sculptural design.
