DESCRIPTION

The heart-shaped pepper leaves beautifully adorn the “Feuilles” votive.

The climbing vine had already inspired the design of the salt and pepper mill co-signed by René Lalique and Peugeot in 1924, reproduced in celebration of the Villa René Lalique opening. The graphic composition combines lines in downstrokes and upstrokes while the contrast of satin and polished crystal creates stunning plays of light and transparency.

Lalique today is considered the jewel in the crown of the French glass and crystal industry since 1888 – a byword for excellence, a reputation earned through creating extraordinary pieces in crystal glass in its myriad variations. It is not for nothing that Lalique is also referred to as the ‘haute couture’ of crystal. Since 1922, every Lalique piece has been produced at their only factory, the Verrerie d'Alsace glassworks at Wingen-sur Moder, Alsace, in a French region with a strong historical glassmaking tradition.
