The Afloat Chandelier has won the Archiproducts Design Awards 2023 in the Lighting category. Now on its 8th iteration, the Archiproducts Design Awards recognizes, rewards and celebrates excellence across a broad range of categories in the field of Design and Architecture. The last edition saw over 50 entries globally and are awarded based on aesthetics, originality and design quality. The prize was awarded at the monumental Superstudio space in Via Tortona, Milan, Italy on November 16.
As part of the Soft Blown Collection designed in collaboration between Lladró and Luca Nichetto of Nichetto Studio, the Afloat Chandelier is inspired by the joyful aloofness of balloon art in summertime. The lamp is composed of connected balloon parts and gives an air of weightlessness despite the high quality of handmade porcelain. The translucent nature of porcelain allows for a radiating glow that is hard to replicate.
