The 4 Elemental Pillars
Since Baccarat’s founding in 1764, the company has defined its craft through the mastery of the four natural elements. To Baccarat, crystal isn't just a product; it is the physical result of the synergy between the basic 4 elements during the entire creation process:

Earth: The silica (sand) and lead oxide that provide the raw material for the creation of crystal masterpieces. Also represents the various minerals and precious metals like gold that is mixed into crystal to achieve wonderful crystal colours.
Air: The breath of the master glassblower that gives the molten mass its form, connecting the human spirit to the craft itself.
Fire: The extreme heat (reaching over 1,500°C) required to melt and fuse the materials, and the precise control of molten crystal through various temperature ranges.
Water: Used to cool the tools and the crystal during the gruelling shaping process. Also used during various polishing and finishing processes.
The theme of the 4 elements is referenced in many Baccarat collections and even within the historic Maison Baccarat in Paris's 6th arrondissement. The 4 Elements Tumbler Collection
In recent history, Baccarat solidified this philosophy into a specific product: the 4 Elements Coffret (Tumbler Set of 4). This set was famously inspired by the signature cocktails served at the Baccarat Hotel New York. Each element is represented by one of Baccarat's most iconic historical patterns, chosen for its visual energy:
Air - Perfection Tumbler
Designed in 1933, it is characterized by its minimalist, pure lines, mimicking the invisibility and lightness of air. The glass’s stunning minimalism and unblemished form is, indeed, the perfect vessel in which to enjoy a smooth drink and a testament to Baccarat's artisans.
Earth - Harmonie Tumbler
Created in 1975, its vertical, tight-ribbed cuts represent the architectural strength and structure of the earth. These lines emphasize the verticality of the tumbler as you sip your quality spirits and mixed drinks. They are available in extra small, small, medium, large, and extra large sizes for maximum versatility.
Fire - Nancy Tumbler
Originating in 1867, the crisscross diamond cuts catch and refract light like flickering flames. The textural feeling of the tumbler's diamond-cut pattern against the fingertips fully engages both the visual and tactile senses
Water - Montaigne Tumbler
A sleek, tulip-shaped design named after the philosopher Michel de Montaigne, symbolizing the fluid, essential nature of water. It features vertical interior ridges (fluting) that create an optical effect, refracting light and casting intriguing shadows without disrupting the smooth exterior.

The 4 Elements Coffret is a wonderful gifting option for loved ones or the perfect entry into building an essential barware collection.
The 4 Elements Scented Candles Collection
Expanding beyond glassware, Baccarat launched a 4 Elements Scented Candle collection. Each fragrance is designed to capture the sensory experience of the manufacturing process:
