Creating the piece called for the development of a special furnace to hold the span of the bird's unfolded wings in a single block of crystal. This monumental piece of 34 kg of spectacular dimensions is then cut by the manufactory finest craftsmen ("Meilleurs Ouvriers de France"). Perched on a rock with wings spread, its beak pointed forward and piercing eyes tracking an invisible prey, the Imperial eagle is captured in an imposing posture. King of the sky, able to rise above the clouds, the eagle is a symbol of strength and prestige.
