With Fang Lijun, Lalique reinvents the artist's figure of a bald man caught in a yawn in clear crystal.

The result of the collaboration between artist Fang Lijun and Lalique, the sculpture “Yawning Man” is inspired by the artist’s work. This creation has been reinterpreted in a small version crafted in clear satin-finished and repolished crystal, as a numbered edition that enriches the exclusive collection. Also available in 4 limited edition colours and larger size.

Alongside Fang Lijun, Lalique reinvents in crystal the iconic painting Series 2 (No.2), in which the artist captures the figure of a bald man caught in a yawn. An emblematic piece that embodies the spirit of a China in the 1990s, a period of profound transformation. Between crystal and emotion, Lalique’s master glassmakers have applied their expertise to celebrate Fang Lijun’s art in all its uniqueness and modernity.

Lalique today is considered the jewel in the crown of the French glass and crystal industry since 1888 – a byword for excellence, a reputation earned through creating extraordinary pieces in crystal glass in its myriad variations. It is not for nothing that Lalique is also referred to as the ‘haute couture’ of crystal. Since 1922, every Lalique piece has been produced at their only factory, the Verrerie d'Alsace glassworks at Wingen-sur Moder, Alsace, in a French region with a strong historical glassmaking tradition.
