For the Parsi community, descended from Persian Zoroastrians, an important part of Indian culture, the Faravahar represents the wisdom of age. It is a protective symbol with different meanings, a guardian angel that exemplifies one of the religion’s main teachings: to live with good thoughts, words and actions. It is also believed to symbolize the victory of light over darkness.
