Lladró's collaboration with Luca Nichetto of Nichetto Studios continues to bag awards by winning the European Product Design Awards 2023 for HOME (Household Products) / Home Lighting: Lamps and Luminaires. The Afloat Chandelier in the collection previously won the Archiproducts Prize in the Lighting Category.
Nichetto approaches his work with a focus on experimentation with materials and production processes. In contrast to designers who prioritise personal expression or the development of a signature style, Nichettos design philosophy is based around exceeding the boundaries of what's possible in terms of materials and manufacturing techniques which often results in the expansion of language in that particular material.
Available in a variety of colour ranges, the collection draws inspiration from the convivial spirit of balmy, sunny days when the streets are lined with performance artists effortlessly crafting colourful and intricate balloon creations.
