Hina Dolls Figurine Beige and Pink
Hina Dolls Figurine Beige and Pink
DESCRIPTION
Hina Dolls, delicately handmade in porcelain, pay tribute to the traditions and cultural wealth of Japan.
They were emperors during the Heian period, a time of peace and tranquility. A time of samurais, of poetry and art, in which the emperor and empress upheld traditions and behaved with courage, wisdom and kindness. With the passing of the years the figure of the emperors became a symbol of fortune and fulfilment, and for that reason during the popular Hina Matsuri festival held every year in March, newborn baby girls receive a gift of Hina Dolls, an emperor and an empress, to wish them a happy and prosperous life. This glazed porcelain version is notable for the beige and pink decoration and for the faithfulness and detail of the costumes worn in the imperial court of the time.
